BT’s (NYSE: BT) living room IPTV platform is adding PictureBox, Universal Pictures’ premium on-demand movie subscription service, to its box. For £5 per month, customers get to pick from a roster of 28 movies from NBC Universal (NYSE: GE) and others, as a complement to BT Vision’s own movie offerings. PictureBox is already available over Freeview via a Top-Up TV card, rolled out on Tiscali’s nascent IPTV offering last June and is also carried in Poland and Singapore. NBCU is looking at further distribution in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
