In his memo announcing the sale of three blogs, Gawker chief Nick Denton explained that the sites would be better fits in their new families. Buzznet, the LA-based music music site that’s acquiring Idolator, has made its own announcement explaining the move. The site, which will complement the recently acquired Stereogum, while maintain the same editorial setup under editor Maura Johnston. At least officially, it plans on beefing up the site with more resources, so it can expand its content. Denton tosses in a quote saying that ad sales would work out better at an organization specifically dedicated to music content. With the buy, Buzznet is now the owner of the two biggest music blogs, by its own reckoning. Release.
