Arab Digital Distribution (ADD is a platform management company in Middle East and North Africa, it runs ART- Premium Arabic Entertainment, Pehla – Premium Asian Entertainment and First Net – Premium International Entertainment) has announced a 10-year exclusive television coverage deal with the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the UAE (amongst others, full list here) market. Any idea on who has parked rights for the US/CA/UK belt? The broadcast rights for India amounting to $918 million have been signed over to Sony (NYSE: SNE) Entertainment Television (SET) for five years, while another $108 million will need to be spent on marketing and promotions.
Cerius Adds: We had initially mis-interpreted the release stating the rights had been bought for $1.026 billion by ADD, apologies for the same, ADD has refused to comment
