Comparison shopping site Become.com has raised a $17.5 million third round from TPG Growth. Launched by team from MySimon back in 2004, the Mountain View-based company has previously announced $11.7 million in funding, for a total of $29.2 million. The company is in a crowded field, though it claims to have been profitable for the past two quarters. The pitch: its proprietary algorithm helps it deliver the most accurate and broad results. In addition to pure price, the site offers other information, like reviews and product guides. Release.
