Mobile content applications firm Action Engine has raised a $6.5 million “bridge” round, the company said in a SEC filing, reports peHUB. The investors were not disclosed. This brings the Bellevue, Wash.-based company’s total raise to $71.5 million, having previously raised $65 million, including a $20 million sixth round last summer. Backers include Baker Capital, joined by Northwest Venture Associates and The Spangler Group. The company specializes in the on-device portal space — applications on the device designed to access specific content. Customers include AOL (NYSE: TWX), MSNBC.com and TiVo.
