NYTCo: Harbinger To Be Reimbursed Up To $250k; Board Salaries $87k-$133k

Nothing bank-breaking here, but it’s worth noting some of the numbers behind this morning’s short and sweet announcement that NYTCo (NYSE: NYT) and Harbinger have agreed to settle the score:

— As it had previously sought, Harbinger will get a reimbursement of up to $250,000 for its direct, out-of-pocket expenses associated with its nominations and related filings. Per the agreement, Harbinger is not allowed to take any fresh actions against the board for a designated period of time, but should one of its proposed board nominees be rendered unable to serve, Allen L. Morgan and Gregory Shove are allowed to come off the bench and fill in, according to the filing.

— There’s also an added cost to the Times in expanding its board: Last year its non-employee directors earned between $87,000 and $133,000, according to the company’s preliminary proxy filing. The base pay is $45,000, which is augmented by fees for sitting on committees and other stock bonuses.
