CyberMedia, a BSE and NSE listed specialty media house has expanded its media services business with the acquisition of the TDA Group Inc, which provides marketing consulting, content development, web and graphics design to the IT industry. The TDA Group’s products include, as per the release “magazines, newsletters, collateral, identity, customer reference programs, white papers, direct mail and websites.” This is Cybermedia’s second acquisition in the US: in December 2006, they had acquired 49 percent stake in Illinois based Publication Services Inc. Cybermedia has 15 specialty publications and it’s business has been structured into three segments – Print Publishing, Online and life sciences, and the Cybermedia Services Group; the last – a content BPO unit.
The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, and the release mentions “a new subsidiary TDA Group LLC”. We’ve asked Cybermedia for more details on the deal. The TDA group had revenues exceeding $5 million for the year ending Dec 2007. It appears that TDA founders Bob Tabke and Debbie Dawson will remain with the co.
Update: Just spoke to Pradeep Gupta, Chairman of the Cybermedia Group. He says that they formed a company TDA Group LLC as a wholly owned subsidiary, which then acquired the assets, business etc of TDA Group Inc. As a part of the acquisition, the TDA Group founders will be required to stay with the company for a certain time period, which PG didn’t elaborate on.
