Fuse Interactive, the wholly owned subsidiary of Fuse+Media of the Velocity Interactive Group, has launched its Pune studio under the brand name Badmash. Fuse Interactive focuses in developing web and mobile animation targeting the South Asian Diaspora.
Given that the elections of the Presidential nominees in the US are in full flow (at least on the democratic side), Fuse Interactive has also launched a fairly topical site called Dishoom2008 – a parody with Amitabh Bachhan as a candidate for “Prime Minster” of the USA…don’t miss the whiskey bottle with the Yes I Can slogan (a parody on Barack Obama’s Yes We Can). Keyur Patel, MD & CEO of FUSE+Media has told ContentSutra that they’re in the process of developing around 6 animation properties, and will be announcing some joint ventures with US studios as well. Fuse+Media is also lead investor in NDTV Networks ($20M) and IndiaTV ($11.5M), and is fully owned by the Velocity Interactive Group.
Badmash reminded me of a comic strip of the same name that I used to read many years ago (3-4 years is a lot in this digital age), and it appears to be the same group of people. Anyway, from the (old) Badmash days, here’s The Singhsons. More in the archives.
