Ninja Spawns Killer Tomatoes

The duo behind Ask a Ninja are making the leap from Web to feature films to remake the 1978 cult hit Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Kent Nichols and Douglas Sarine will both write the adaptation with Nichols on board to make his directorial debut.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Ask a Ninja” has racked up more than 80 million plays so far, and TVWeek reported in December that Nichols and Sarine generate about $100,000 a month in ad revenue, merchandising and licensing.

No word yet on what this means for regular Ninja production. I’m just hoping they get George Clooney to reprise his role from the original film’s sequel Return of the Killer Tomatoes.
