A non-geek and the Fujitsu P1620

Last night while watching TV with the Fujitsu P1620 in my hands, something I love to do due to its small and light form, my bride wanted to check something online.  She didn’t want to go upstairs and get her laptop so she asked for the first time if she could use the P1620.  It was in slate mode and I handed it over to her without any instructions and watched her use it for the next twenty minutes or so.  It’s a tribute to the Fujitsu that she figured out how to do what she wanted and when she was done I asked her what she thought about using it.  She liked the small form factor but didn’t care for the touch screen as it required too much precision for her to tap links on the screen to make stuff happen.  She felt that she was tapping it too lightly and nothing would happen so she’d have to tap again.  I believe that’s just due to her not being used to the Fujitsu although the passive digitizer does require a pretty good tap to get recognized sometimes.  You have to understand that she uses a Tablet with an active digitizer but she usually uses it in notebook mode and rarely as a slate.  When I mentioned she could have swiveled the screen around and used it like a notebook her response was pretty funny- "NOW you tell me".  :)  It’s always fun to let the uninitiated try new tech.
