LinkedIn Mobile and Freshbooks Expenses Launch Today

Two web worker favorites are introducing new features today.

LinkedIn Mobile

Recognizing that the business world has gone mobile in a big way, LinkedIn users can now quickly access their network updates, profile, and search for other members by visiting m.linkedin.com on any mobile browser. Of course, there is also the obligatory iPhone optimized version as shown below.

Responding to a more international business community, LinkedIn Mobile is launching the new mobile app simultaneously in English, French, Spanish, German and Japanese.

According to the press materials announcing the launch, LinkedIn members will be able to immediately take advantage of the following LinkedIn features on their mobile devices:

  • Search LinkedIn profiles including photos and bio information to help recall and connect with business acquaintances at events and conferences
  • Research the mutual contacts they have with other professionals to help make real world introductions easier
  • Invitation capability to connect on LinkedIn anywhere
  • Network update capabilities to receive important updates about your connections while on the go.

Freshbooks Expenses

Freshbooks already makes invoicing clients based on flat rates or time very easy. Today, the company introduces expense tracking to the free core product. According to the company, this is the most often requested feature.

It would be nice if Freshbooks offered the ability to attach PDF receipts to the expense item. But as it is, Freshbooks is a simple and no-frills approach for freelancers who don’t need the bells & whistles (& price tag) of something like QuickBooks.

What do you think of these new offerings?
