Seattle-based Blist, a developer of online databases, has raised a $6.5 million first round from Frazier Technology Ventures and Morgenthaler Ventures. The company offers an easy way to create a database that can be maintained online and shared among peers. Its examples of possible data sets include wedding attendee lists and fantasy football statistics. It claims its product works better than a spreadsheet, which is what users often use for something like this, but that it’s not nearly as complex as traditional database applications. CEO and founder Kevin Merritt was previously at Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT), via its acquisition of Frontbridge Technologies. Release.
