Mytrade, a Netvibes-like start page service with a financial bent, has been acquired by Investools, a publicly traded provider of financial education and online trading services. The Mytrade service allows users to build their own custom homepage by dragging and dropping custom financial data sources. Prior to this, Mytrade users weren’t able to make trades directly from their page. Investools will offer a widget that allows users to trade directly from their homepage. The service has raised unspecified funding from Howard Lindzon, Roger Ehrenberg (chairman, Monitor110) and other investors. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but reports put it at between $3 million to $5 million. Release.
