The move follows the elevation of Richard Beaven from the role of president to chairman-CEO of Initiative Worldwide, succeeding Alec Gerster, who retired last week. Spengler has been with Initiative since 1993. In 2006, he was named to his most recent position, chief activation officer. Alan Cohen is also making an ascent from his current post as EVP, managing director of Initiative West. He’s been tapped as president of the Interpublic Group media agency’s western division.
