Skyfire has launched a beta version of its new mobile browser which purports to put the complete web on mobile phones — including desktop Flash, AJAX, QuickTime, streaming video and music and so on. The beta is available free (although at some point a business model will kick in) and works on Windows Mobile devices, with a version for Symbian being planned. Of course, to be effective it will need a high-speed network and unlimited data plan. The iPhone received a lot of accolades for its browser, but also some criticism because it doesn’t support Flash: Opera Mobile supports FlashLite. Engadget has a video demo of the browser, which looks pretty impressive.
