Chirp Gets Angel Funding For Social Screen Saver

There is life after flying toasters: SF-based chirp has raised unspecified angel funding for a screensaver that keeps a user updated on their social connections. The funding comes from Greylock Partners, SoftTech VC, Reid Hoffman (LinkedIN), Jay Adelson (Digg) and Dave Samuel (Spinner.com, Grouper). Chirp’s pitch is that it offers a passive way to monitor friend activity on sites like Flickr and Facebook, an alternative to having to go out and find it. Co-founder and CEO Eve Phillips was formerly at Greylock. Release.
