Champaign, IL-based, RiverGlass, a developer of web monitoring technology, has raised a $2.4 million third round from past backers RPM Ventures, IllinoisVENTURES and Country Insurance & Financial Services. The company raised a $4 million second round last year, following a seed and first round of about $1 million each, for a total raise of more than $8 million. The company, formed to commercialize research from the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, helps companies discover and analyze unstructured text from around the web. It claims its technology can learn from the behavior of its customers to deliver relevant data. Funding will go towards product development and sales. Release.
