Stockholm-based mobile e-mail provider Momail has raised SEK 35 million (US$5.4 million) in its first round of funding: Investors include the Swedish 6th Pension Fund and Bonnier Invest, as well as individual investors from Sweden, England, Russia and South Africa. The funding will be used to expand into new markets (Poland is next on the list) and for further development, specifically to make it easier to deliver email, pictures, documents and other digital content via mobile handsets. The company’s mail client is in use in the UK, Germany and all Nordic countries and supports 1,000 devices.
