After Network18’s HomeShop18, another home shopping network is reportedly in the works. Business Standard reports that STAR India and the Times of India group (BCCL) are tying up with a Korean company to launch a home shopping network company. The Korean company will hold a minority stake, while STAR and BCCL will be equal partners. The story is unconfirmed: there’s no confirmation or comment from STAR. Remains to be seen whether online and mobile portals are a part of their plans. I wonder if ROI for a home shopping networks is an issue: remember, 23 percent of the advertising by Internet portals on TV was by Homeshop18, as per this TAM media research.
