STAR India and Digital Entertainment Networks (DEN) have formed a 50:50 joint venture to distribute television content using IPTV, MMDS (Wireless Cable), DTH and HITS, reports Television Point. Variety adds that Mobile is excluded from the deal. I wonder if that includes both TV over mobile networks and Mobile TV. The terms of the deal haven’t been disclosed. DEN has been promoted by GBN founder Sameer Manchanda, with investments from Network18 MD Raghav Bahl. The joint venture will distribute all content currently being distributed by STAR India domestically, including Star Plus, Star One, Star Gold, Vijay, Star Utsav, Star News, Star Ananda, Star Majha, Channel [V], National Geographic Channel, National Geographic Adventure, The History Channel, Disney (NYSE: DIS), Toon Disney, Hungama, Zoom and Times Now.
