How to Sneak Social Media into the Enterprise

Paisano (yes, that’s his name according to his about page) has a great post this morning where he reminds us that the social web isn’t just about using web apps and getting on Facebook. In fact, you can be sitting in your cubicle, behind an enterprise firewall and still use the web to work better. Don’t believe us work-from-home/self-employed types? Then read Paisano’s post for real-world examples of how he not only did a better job using the tools and philosophies of the connected web, he had a darn good time doing it!

Think Web 2.0 which doesn’t just mean FREE, my friends. I think it means thinking outside the box and towards making everything more collaborative, effective and heck, even fun! What’s wrong with breathing some life into the stale, musty business world? Who says we have to let all the kids on Facebook and MySpace have all the joy? We each have the choice to do something differently or do them the same way we’ve always done them. In the end, it’s up to you which path you take.

Very well said!

Hat tip to Chris Brogan for the link, following up on his must-read “Challenges of Social Media Types in the Workplace.” And I’m not just saying that because he wisely advises everyone to subscribe to Web Worker Daily.
