*Dow Jones* continues to fill gaps and add positions during the transition to News Corp. (NYSE: NWS) ownership. The latest: Paul Bascobert has been promoted to chief marketing officer of the Consumer Media Group (CMG) effective immediately. It’s significantly different from SVP-operations for CMG, where he was responsible for printing, distribution, fulfillment, IT and customer service for WSJ and Barron’s. But Bascobert, who reports to CMG COO Todd Larsen, has a marketing background that includes working with the NYT, among others, when he was EVP for Braun Consulting. His core responsibility now: grow circulation for the CMG brands, including flagship WSJ, while “finding new ways to use the company’s deep customer knowledge to create new growth opportunities.”
— Bascobert succeeds Ann Marks as CMO for the group but Marks also was chief corporate marketing officer. Marks resigned the day after News Corp. took over.
