– Time Out New York has launched a mobile community site, TONY Nightlife+, which lets people find events and venues reviewed by the publication which are near to their physical location, and feedback from the users will provide information on how the locations and events are going at any given moment. Users can also connect to profiles and send messages to each other…the site is run by Buzzd.
— Sweden’s largest daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter has launched a mobile service — if they buy a Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 6120 phone and sign up for a 199 kronor (US$31) monthly call plan they can surf the newspaper’s website for free by hitting a dedicated “DN” button reports AFP. I can’t find details of which telco provides the service, nor the details of the plan, but the idea is to attract users by removing the two obstacles DN thinks stops Swedes using the mobile internet — it’s complicated and the price is uncertain.
