Nokia (NYSE: NOK) has won a battle in its patent war against Qualcomm. In this one (file in June 06) Qualcomm (NSDQ: QCOM) asked the International Trade Commission (ITC) to bar the importation of Nokia products it claimed infringed on three of its patents. “The administrative law judge, after a review of the record developed, finds inter alia that there is jurisdiction and that there is no violation,” wrote Paul Luckern, the administrative law judge who heard the case” reports Reuters. Just last month the ITC refused to ban Qualcomm products at the request of Nokia, and there’s the Broadcom saga where a ban on importing Qualcomm’s 3G chips issued by the ITC in June was stayed by the US Court of Appeal. Broadcom hasn’t given up though, and is seeking an injunction.
