The BBC has rebadged its web radio player “iPlayer Radio” ahead of radio being fully integrated in to the online catch-up TV offering in 2008. The player lets listeners hear BBC Radio‘s 13 national and 40 local stations live and includes programmes for listening again within seven days of transmission, as usual. It’s mostly a cosmetic exercise ahead of the TV iPlayer coming out of beta on Christmas Day, but the new player includes better-quality stations and enhanced programme information. From the site: “This is the first step in a major project which aims to make listening to and watching BBC audio and video content simpler, by bringing everything together in one place: the BBC iPlayer.”Via Ryan Morrison.
