One of our regular reads in the online videosphere, The Daily Reel, hasn’t added new content in nearly a month. It’s somewhat strange timing considering the company’s first conference — which was held on Oct. 31 and had a great line-up — seemed to signal the start of bigger things. And over the summer, TDR had launched a social network for video creators called ReeledIn that was profiled in the New York Times.
The Daily Reel back in April said it had received seed funding “in the high six figures” from Prism VentureWorks. The company is not, however, listed on Prism’s online portfolio, giving us reason to believe the funding may not have come through. But we’re not sure exactly what happened.
Most of our contacts at TDR have left the company, and CEO Jeff Stern has not replied to our emails. What’s up, guys? We miss you!
