I’m still not sold on hardware solutions to share my 3G connection when the software solutions on Macs and PCs work pretty well, but if you must be the life of the wireless party, you might be interested in the Cradlepoint PHS300. Like prior 3G routers, this model accepts your WWAN card and then shares the broadband goodness to everyone around you through a WiFi signal. The new twist is that the PHS300 has a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery, so you don’t need a power outlet to keep the party going! You’ll need a USB WWAN modem, although some 3G phone models are also supported; most noteably Sprint’s BlackBerry 8830, and the Motorola V3c on Verizon in addition to a few other models. Don’t forget the cost of the Cradlepoint router too; suggested retail price is $179. Is that too much to be the center of attention… and the hotspot? I’ll be generous and put a link to the 3Gstore that sells them, thus saving them the bother of leaving a comment with a free advertisement and link. You’re welcome gang, but just this once! ;)Thanks for the tip, Ben!
