O2 seems pleased with its iPhone deal, saying that sales have been in line with expectations. Matthew Key, incoming head of 02, said that: “Over time, three out of four customers of the iPhone will be new O2 customers, because you can only get the iPhone by becoming a customer of O2,” reports Reuters. The article doesn’t indicate whether this prediction is based on some sort of research or whether it’s wishful thinking on the part of O2, but it is the expected justification for the revenue-sharing deal O2 likely agreed to with Apple.
