– AdAge: AdAge vet Allison Arden has been promoted to publisher from associate publisher, less than two weeks after Scott Donaton said he was leaving to become publisher of Entertainment Weekly. — EMI: Mark Piibe, formerly head of content for digital music company MusicGremlin, will take on the role of SVP-Business Affairs for EMI Music North America’s digital unit. He will report to Lauren Berkowitz, SVP-Digital and will work with her to maintain and build partnerships with online, mobile and technology companies. EMI will also look to Piibe to provide legal counsel.
— Aniboom: Jonas Gerber has been tapped to lead the Israeli digital animation network’s U.S. efforts. He’ll be based in Aniboom’s new U.S. headquarters in San Francisco, the company said. Gerber, who previously worked in business development at mobile content aggregator Moderati, SVP, business development and general manager, U.S. operations, and reports directly to Uri Shinar, Aniboom’s founder and president.
— Belo: Following last month’s split of the company into two separate businesses, one for Belo’s (NYSE: BLC) broadcast and another for its newspaper holdings, the publishing side done some reshuffling at the executive level. Robert Decherd, Belo’s chairman and CEO, will take on the role of chairman, president and CEO of the newspaper company and will also serve as non-executive chairman of Belo TV arm. James Moroney III will serve as EVP of the newspaper company, remaining as publisher and CEO of The Dallas Morning News. More details about the appoints are available here.
