– The London Underground will reportedly start trials substituting mobile phones for its contactless payment Oyster Card. The trials will involve Nokia, (NYSE: NOK) O2 and Transport for London and will use NFC technology. (ZDNet UK). There seems to be more to this, with the Mobile Weblog noting that Nokia is teaming up with Barclaycard OnePulse for this, and as well as transportation it will include mobile transactions in about 1,000 shops.

— EA Mobile will release SimCity Societies for mobile phones this month, starting in Europe and moving on to North America. The game sounds pretty detailed, with 50 buildings available and people getting to unlock new buildings that can help advance or regress their society, plus the natural disasters that typify Sim City. — A couple of small Brazilian operators will launch mobile advertising after signing a deal with Celltick for a service called Se Liga. The operators, Telemig Celular (3.6 million users) and Amazonia Celular (1.3 million users), will use Se Liga to promote content, mobile services and brands on the idle screen, letting people click through to the content.
