The FCC has relaxed a small-business bidding rule in the upcoming FCC auction in a move which is seen to benefit Frontline. “A small business, or designated entity, is eligible for bidding discounts up to 25 percent as long as it does not wholesale more than 50 percent of its spectrum capacity. The FCC waived that provision, finding that unique circumstances and obligations of the D block license and other factors made strict application of the rule unnecessary” reports RCR Wireless. This should effectively give Frontline a 25 percent discount on the spectrum.
