Mobile entertainment firm New Motion, which is in the process of buying online marketer Traffix, announced Q3 revenue of $10.5 million, 88 percent higher than last year’s $5.6 million. Higher costs caused losses to expand to $1.9 million from $437,000 in the year-ago period. The company says it now has 750,000 paying subscribers, a sequential increase of 180,000. Since last year, the company has tripled its total staff, while adding to its management ranks. In August, the company named former T-Mobile USA COO Susan Swenson as COO. As for its acquisition of Traffix, the company is calling for an early 2008 close.
