Tilefile, a Sydney, Australia-based social network, has taken an unspecified investment from Motorola (NYSE: MOT) Ventures. The company’s previous investor is Japanese venture firm ngi group (formerly Netage). The company, which offers a platform for friends to share and comment on each other’s media, has been active in the Japanese market, as discussed in an Entrepreneur.com piece from earlier this year. The service is mainly web-based, but it intends to do more in the mobile space going forward, hence the Motorola investment, which may put it in a similar space as Nokia’s (NYSE: NOK) MOSH platform. Release.
