WWD Coffee Break – Twitter, Expenses & Nerds

Never Miss a Tweet Again – Addicted to Twitter? Now there’s Tweet Scan, a real-time Twitter search engine that will feed your compulsion. Find everything that’s been said recently about cars, corgis, Second Life, or any other subject. Even better, you can sign up for daily or weekly email updates so that nothing sneaks by while you sleep.

Manage Expenses With an Eye to the Future – Banzai! is a new online personal finance management site (though I don’t see any reason you couldn’t use it to track business expenses too). Their twist is that they encourage thinking about the tradeoffs in future spending, rather than just getting a retrospective of past activity, and they hook you up with a human coach to help out.

And on the Corporate Front – If you’re running a business with multiple workers running around, you might want to take a look at ExpenseWire, an on-demand solution for expense tracking and reimbursement. Features include expense reports, policy management, accounting system integration, and even direct deposit reimbursement for your employees.

Submit Your Heart Out – If you’re trying to use social bookmarking as a way to publicize things (instead of just a way to track URLs for your own future use), take a look at SocialMarker. With one click on their bookmarklet, you can submit a URL to 34 sites at once, from del.icio.us and Stumbleupon to the more obscure likes of Plugim and Bibsonomy.

Sometimes Stereotypes are True – And sometimes they’re just funny. Somewhere in the middle lies The Nerd Handbook from Rands In Repose. There’s enough overlap between web worker and nerd that you probably know at least one of the species, or may even be involved with one; if so, the tips here could do you some good.
