– FT.com: Reuters (NSDQ: RTRSY) Video editor Richard Edgar is leaving to become FT.com’s first ever head of video. He will be responsible for building out the paper’s online video section, which now produces more than 100 videos a month (via press release). FT.com says it sees online video as key to the continued growth of its website. Along with the new hire, it has launched new video products including View From the Markets, a special edition of The Short View to mark the anniversary of the 1987 stock market crash and an online business lecture series from the Indian School of Business. Edgar had overseen Reuters’ Europe, Middle East and Africa video output; prior to that, he was a journalist, covering politics and financial news at Reuters Television’s Frankfurt bureau following a stint as business editor for BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. Edgar will report to FT.com editor James Montgomery.
