Celltick Closes $8.5 Million Fourth Round Funding

Celltick has closed a round of $8.5 million in funding from its principal investors JVP and Amadeus. I’m pretty sure this is its fourth round, with the last being back in 2005 — if my calculations are correct they’ve raised about $28.5 million. The funding will be used to build on the company’s LiveScreen Media platform to provide a complete managed service offering and support Celltick’s new “mass reach” mobile strategy. LiveScreen promotes content and brands over the idle-screen of mobile phones, and is on more than 25 operators around the world. Celltick is planning on moving from a license-based model to focus on the mass distribution of its application, and will distribute unlimited licenses at no cost to mobile operators. Celltick will be responsible for managing all aspects of the mobile medium including editorial content, promotion of rich media and advertising sales.
