Earnings: PlanetOut Q3 Revenues Decline 2 Percent As Net Losses Widen

Gay and lesbian media portal PlanetOut (NSDQ: LGBT) continued to struggle with its financial difficulties in Q3, as the San Francisco company reported a GAAP net loss of $4.8 million, a widening of 220 percent from last year’s $1.5 million net loss. Total revenue for the quarter was fell slightly to $13.7 million, a 2 percent decrease from Q306’s $14 million. Other information from the comany’s pre-call release:

— Ad revenue was $7.3 million, a 14.1 percent gain from last year’s $6.4 million.
— Subscription revenue in Q3 slipped 6.9 percent to $5.4 million, down from $5.8 million Q306.
— Revenues from transactions came in at $1 million, down 44.4 percent from $1.8 million for the same quarter a year ago.
— For 2007 in total, PlanetOut has revised its outlook downward. It now expects total revenue to be between $69 million and $72 million and adjusted EBITDA net losses to be between $9 million and $11 million.
