More moves from AOL (NYSE: TWX) to expand its strategy as an online content portal. To help AOL target local advertising around the world, the company is launching local versions of its Truveo video search engine in eight markets including the UK, France, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Spain and Taiwan; and plans to launch specific portals for Australia, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Russia and Turkey in the next couple of months. It is also adding Tamil and Hindi to its India portal, which previously was only available in English. AOL acquired the video search company Truveo in 2006 and comScore says it currently has some 40 million users per month in the U.S. release
