Interpublic Group Buys Branded Entertainment Firm Translation Marketing

Ad holding company Interpublic Group has bought branded entertainment shop Translation Consulting + Brand Imaging. Financial terms were not disclosed. The New York-based company, which will be held as stand alone unit, tends to focus on youth and multicultural marketing campaigns for the likes of Reebok and General Motors. It has worked with celebrities like Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z and Gwen Stefani. Release

Adweek: IPG paid an estimated $10- to 15 million to acquire the company. Steve Stoute, a former executive for rap label Interscope Records, started the company three years ago. He’ll continue to lead Translation.
