Dentsu America Buys Design Shop Attik: Report

Ad agency Dentsu America has bought digital graphics and design company Attik, Adweek reported. Neither company has so far confirmed the report. Financial terms of the deal were not determined. Citing unnamed sources, Adweek says that it was Attik that initiated the deal by first approaching Dentsu about striking up an alliance.

The San Francisco-based Attik was founded in UK in 1986 and has worked with Toyota, ExpressJet in the U.S., and in the U.K., clients have included Coca-Cola and Adidas. The company will maintain its San Francisco headquarters, while offices in West Hollywood will be folded into Dentsu’s Santa Monica location. Likewise, Attik’s New York operations will be moved into Dentsu’s Manhattan office. Dentsu, Japan’s largest ad agency, has operated in the U.S. for about three decades. It has created campaigns for Canon and HarperCollins, but has never really established itself as major powerhouse.
