Sony (NYSE: SNE) Ericsson (NSDQ: ERIC) is preparing a big push for M-Buzz, its global unsigned bands site, with a major cross-promotional marketing strategy and a series of developments on the website. “M-Buzz is available online and as a mobile-specific version reached via a bookmark that’s embedded in Sony Ericsson phones. Tracks from the M-Buzz site are currently only available to stream for free. Sony Ericsson plans to add a premium download service early in the New Year” reports NMA. Sony Ericsson is actively looking for new partners for the service. The company is probably keen to strengthen its services business… all its competitors are getting into services, starting with Nokia’s Ovi announcement, and it should also be noted that SE’s profits fell 10 percent while its revenues rose 7 percent last quarter as it moved into lower margin handsets, so it will be looking for other revenue streams.
