Earnings: Tanla Profit At Rs. 36.58 Cr; India Revenues Down; US Subsidiary Launches Ops

Hyderabad based mobile VAS company Tanla Solutions has informed the BSE that their US subsidiary, Tanla Mobile Inc, has launched operations. N.V. Subba Rao has been appointed President and CEO of the subsidiary. Prior to joining Tanla, Subba Rao was COO of Airtel. Tanla provides digital content, payment and advertising solutions to operators, content providers and media companies. The company now has offices in Europe, India, Middle East and Asiapac.

Tanla also announced Q2 results recently: Gross revenues were Rs. 111.41 crores for the Q2 2007, up from Rs. 62.44 crores for Q2 2006. Net profit for the quarter was Rs. 36.58 crores, up from 19.65 crores for the previous year. Most of this increase can be attributed to an increase in overseas revenues – at Rs. 107.25 crores, up from Rs. 47.19 crores for the same quarter last year. India income has declined to Rs. 6.78 crores, from Rs. 18.81 lakh for Q2 2006. For the half-year ending September 30th, the company’s India revenues were down to Rs. 7.78 crores, from Rs. 44.46 crores for the same period in 2006.
