– INgrooves Music will launch a 3D music screensaver application next month on Verizon (NYSE: VZ) and Alltel (NYSE: AT) It has teamed up with Emdigo for the service.
— The Weather Channel has announced mobile videos, teaming with Vantrix to offer the videos via the Weather Channel mobile web site. There’ll be weather for 100 US cities as well as regional and national forecasts, travel weather reports and weather-related news stories. The weather for the cities will be updated every 30 minutes, meaning almost 5,000 new videos every day.
— Verizon will offer new games from South Korea on its Get it Now service. South Korea is widely regarded as ahead of just about everyone bar Japan in terms of mobile, and reportedly has some pretty good games — the country pioneered one-button gaming… Skyzone is providing the service.
— Thumbplay-AOL: AOL (NYSE: TWX) has selected Thumbplay to provide mobile content such as ringtones and wallpapers for the service….AOL will offer Thumbplay services across its Internet properties including AOL.com, AIM instant messaging service and its wireless site.
— Verizon has added mShopper to its service, which lets people compare prices and buy over the phone, if they want. It’s already on Sprint.
— 3Guppies has launched a Facebook application, letting people download photos from Facebook to any mobile phone for free.
— Mywaves has got its services on Nokia Video Center, and has also signed a deal with Columbia Records to make music video content for nine artists available through mywaves mobile channels at http://www.mywaves.com/m. The artists include Wyclef Jean, Bow Wow, Omarion, Three 6 Mafia, Lyfe Jennings, and Nas, and the videos are free.
— MSpot has announced it has 2 million subscribers for its mobile music services, doubling the base in the past 6 months. It powers 11 live services across six major North American carriers.
— CBS (NYSE: CBS) Mobile has teamed up with Medio to add search capabilities and search-enabled ad opportunities to its CBS Mobile websites.
