Bandai and Realeyes3D partner for “Super Digitizer” phone apps

Realeyes3dHey, didn’t Bandai used to make handheld video games similar to the ol’ Mattel Electronics ones? I don’t know, maybe it’s a different Bandai that is partnering with Realeyes3D for "Super Digitizer" apps. The fact remains that 60% of Japanese mobile phone owners use their handheld as personal memo-taking devices. I know it’s a fact because Goo Research said so and with a name like Goo, how can you goo go wrong?

Each app offers more use for that camera in your mobile phone:

  • SD Document Capture snaps the text or info on a whiteboard, paper or other written surface. The image is then converted into a legible scan. Similar to Qipit or Scanr, but I don’t see any mention of OCR.
  • SD Handwritten Messaging snaps of pic of your chicken scratch and shoots it off to a friends phone. Of course, if you’re writing is really bad, I suppose you could send it to former friends just to get on their nerves.
  • SD Stamp Maker doesn’t make postage stamps from your images (now that would be cool!) but does create image files of your pics for icons and such.
  • SD Pop Art is a great way to make your bad photos look even worse by adding effects and such. Actually, this could be fun in a non-productive sort of way.
