After a few minutes of playtime with Michael Connick’s Kohjinsha a few weeks back, I just couldn’t shake the feeling that I needed to get one of my own. Actually, let me rephrase that in case Barb is reading and thinks our budget just took another hit in the gadget category. I need to get my hands on one for a week or two; as a result, the great folks at Dynamism have a loaner Vye S37 on the way, which is nearly the same device. Since I’ve tricked out my 1.0 GHz Samsung Q1P with 2 GB of memory, I really want to make a fair comparison between it and the A110 800 MHz Vye, so Dynamism is kindly sending one with 2 GB of memory and the standard 120 GB hard drive.
I’m very interested in the overall performance within my daily work functions as well as the overall inking experience. Am I lusting after the 1024 x 600 LED backlight screen? Well, I’d be lying if I said no (especially after seeing it in person), but I’m quite effective with the 800 x 480 screen on the Q1P. To me, the keyboard is an extra "nice to have" as I prefer a full sized keyboard, like the one I use with my Q1P, but I’ll give it a fair shake. More to follow after the unit arrives of course; if you’ve got questions you want answered, just pop ‘em in the comments and I’ll do my best.
