Yes, life is good today as I am sitting in the Starbucks in the Mandalay Bay in sunny Las Vegas, sipping a beverage and noting some fun things. First of all, Starbucks in the casinos in Vegas do not do WiFi like their brethren elsewhere, so anyone planning a Vegas trip and expecting easy to find WiFi should make other plans. Lucky for me my EVDO is lightning fast here and I don’t miss the WiFi at all, when I even go online which is not often. Hey, it’s Vegas!
My room has Internet access available but after wasting too much time I determined that it isn’t working. Rather than get hotel tech support involved (usually a frightening prospect) I am just sticking with the EVDO which is also very good in the room. Unfortunately this does create one problem as my wife wants to do some blogging from her Tablet and silly me I didn’t bring my PC Card adapter for the ExpressCard modem I use. That means no native EVDO for her so what I did was set my Verizon dial-up connection to be shared. I still can’t get her online because I guess I need to set up an ad-hoc wireless network so she can share it. Anybody know an easy way to share a dial-up connection in Vista? It used to be drop-dead simple in XP but I’m not having any luck with it (of course I’ve been playing more than trying).
Speaking of my better half I just got a text message saying she won $400! Gotta go.
