Viewpoint, a maker of internet marketing technology, is acquiring Austin-based interactive marketing firm Springbox for $5.5 million in cash and stock. It also raised $11 million from new and existing institutional holders via a private share placement. Viewpoint plans to integrate Springbox’s offerings, in particular its content management technology, into its own Unicast ad platform. Springbox, whose customers have included Disney, Dell and AMD, is expected to do $6 million in revenue this year, while Viewpoint has booked sales of $7.2 million through the first half of the year. Viewpoint’s stock has been in a long-term decline, and it currently faces a delisting notice from the NASDAQ due to its sub-$1.00 share price. Release.
