Seattle-based Melodeo, which offers services to bring music and other media to mobile phones, has raised a $7.9 million third round from Ignition Partners and Voyager Capital. This brings the company’s total amount raised to $19.6 million, having last raised $9.5 million in 2004. The company says it will use the investment to bolster its main offering, nuTsie, which lets users listen to their iTunes catalog on a mobile device or another PC. Through a JV with Japanese mobile browser firm Access, Melodeo recently inked deals in China with Sony (NYSE: SNE) BMG and Warner Music. The company also has a deal with Cingular to provide podcasts for its users. Release.
