The BBC is seeking citizen editors from India for a citizen journalism initiative for its Urdu site – BBCUrdu.com, reports Journalism.co.uk. The search for editors begins at Lucknow University, before moving on to Bhopal, Hyderabad and finally Rafat’s hometown of Aligarh. The citizen editors will contribute to a micro-site called Your Edition. This may be more about popularizing the site than really empowering users. Remember what the BBC had done to popularize its Hindi portal?
