That’s the general impression of the Nokia N95-3 made by Jonathan over at atmespheric endeavors. While some might read that as a knock against the original N95, I don’t think it is. The earlier version of the N95 is a very capable device, but fell short in some key areas, namely: no U.S. 3G support, marginal battery life and not enough memory for effective multi-tasking. Jonathan has used the N95-3 for the past few days and it sounds like all of those shortcomings are a distant memory on the new device. The shame of it all is: he got used to the DSL-like speeds of HSDPA while in New York City with the device. Unfortunately, he’s out of the coverage area at home and realizes something we’ve emphasized here for some time: "It’s equivalent to the upgrade from dial-up to broadband." I hope AT&T expands to your area soon, Jonathan! Meanwhile, if you’ve been looking for a high-end multimedia GSM / HSDPA handset, check out Jonathan’s impressions on this $699 wonder.
